Trail of Honor Opens in October!

October 12, 2017

5201 S. Southwood Road, Springfield

Mark your calendar! Ozark Greenways, the Missouri Veterans Commission, and the C.W. Titus Foundation are thrilled to present their collaboration to create a unique new trail section of the James River Greenway, called the Trail of Honor. Residents and visitors will have the unprecedented opportunity to bike, walk, or run along the edge of the beautiful Missouri Veterans Cemetery!

Winding along the serene James River valley, this portion of the greenway will be a contemplative place through which to honor our veterans who have served in all of our nation’s military branches. A large stone gateway will frame this special trail section as it enters and exits the cemetery grounds.

The public is invited to join us for a patriotic dedication and trail opening. Come by bike or on foot if possible. Event parking details will be posted here as the event draws nearer.

Thank you to the following donors whose generosity made this trail possible through their designated gifts to the Trail of Honor during our Trails for Generations funding initiative.

BKD Foundation, Central Bank & Central Trust Company, Anonymous Donor, Bass Pro Shops, Positronic Industries, Peggy Day Lee, King Coltrin, Ted Hilmer, Vern Morgan, Catherine Black, Jim MacKay, Nate Reed and Natasha Longpine

We rely on the enthusiasm and financial support of the community.
