Bike Share is Coming to Center City This Summer
Category News, Projects | Posted on April 16, 2019
Springfield Bike Share is coming to Springfield this summer! This public-private partnership will be installing five bike share stations with 25 bikes throughout Center and on Missouri State University’s campus.
Bike sharing provides a cost-effective transit option for trips too far to walk, but not long enough to take public transit or drive. A bike share system consists of a network of stations placed throughout a specified area where a bike can be taken from a station and returned to any other station. Advantages of bike share include financial, health, environmental, mobility, and safety benefits. Over 700 cities worldwide and 100 cities in the US operate bike share systems,
including St. Louis, Kansas City, Tulsa, and Fayetteville.
Riders enjoy easy checkout, a convenient mobile app, and electric-assist bicycles to make getting around quick and easy. Find deatils and stay up to speed by checking springfieldbikeshare.org
