JANUARY 2018

Fulbright Spring Greenway
—Construction is in full swing on Phase 3, that will close part of the current trail gap between David C. Murray Trailhead and Lost Hill Park. This phase includes a bridge that was installed (pictured above) over South Dry Sac Creek this past December! Phase 4 construction on the remaining gap section will be completed in 2018. This will be such a unique and beautiful trail. We can’t wait to open it!

James River Greenway—Nearly 3/4-mile of additional trail was built in December to extend the Trail of Honor to the edge of Lake Springfield. This gorgeous new section of greenway is receiving overwhelming use.

Jordan Creek Greenway—Springfield Public Works has paved a 500-foot trail gap between Central St. and Bob Barker Blvd., arranging a land swap with OTC to make the link.

Ward Branch Greenway—Construction on the 1/4-mile trail gap through CU’s Twin Oaks Substation on Republic Rd. near Campbell has just been completed by Springfield Public Works. This segment is short, but provides a much-needed trailhead and connects two existing sections to create a continuous greenway from National and Primrose all the way to The Library Center on south Campbell Avenue.

We rely on the enthusiasm and financial support of the community.
