Category Spotlight On | Posted on September 23, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting the 26th Annual Fall Party & Fundraiser Presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts. All of YOU – our sponsors, guests, and volunteers made this a successful event!

On Tuesday we raised $47,200 (net) that will be used to build a trail system that connects and enhances our community. These funds will be used to support core services performed by your Ozark Greenways staff team including advocacy for completing the regional trail system, fundraising for capital trail projects, and stewardship of the Frisco Highline Trail, Fellows Lake Trails, and Sac River Mtn. Bike Trails.

We were excited to share these important updates during the program, below is a recap:

  • We introduced Ron Schneider, the new Springfield-Greene County Parks Director! We are very thankful for the trail maintenance Parks’ performs on the paved trails in Springfield and Greene County.
  • OG Board President Krista Shurtz shared the progress being made by City Utilities on the Fellows Lake Bridge that will be filling a gap in the Fellows Lake Trails Network. The lead architect is Miguel Rosales.
  • OG Ex Officio Board Member Martin Gugel shared the fantastic news about the $24 Million Raise Grant to UnGap the Map in Springfield.
  • OG Interim Director John Montgomery provided a Chadwick Flyer Trail update – stay tuned for a Groundbreaking Ceremony this winter on the Chadwick Flyer Trail Bridge over Highway 65!
  • We also provided an education brochure for Question 1 SPRING Forward SGF on the November Ballot in Springfield.

We will have photos from the event on our Facebook Page soon!

We rely on the enthusiasm and financial support of the community.
