Fassnight Creek Greenway
Fassnight Creek Greenway is in the heart of Springfield, south and west of downtown and Missouri State University. It currently passes through Fassnight Park, goes under Campbell, Bennett and Jefferson avenues, and connects by road to Phelps Grove Park. The trail travels through Phelps Grove Park and continues to the Springfield Art Museum. It will eventually be extended west to Jordan Creek and Wilson's Creek Greenway trails. Phelps Grove Park is a stop along The Link, a 7-mile north/south bicycle-pedestrian route connecting Doling Park to Twin Oaks Park.
POINTS OF INTEREST: Fassnight Park's beautiful historic native Ozarks rock vernacular architecture is used on the park's bridges and its gorgeous historic rock pool house; Fassnight Creek winds through the wooded park and hosts a variety of wildlife and native plantings; on your way to Phelps Grove Park you'll pass a mural by Linda Passeri highlighting Missouri native flowers and pollinators; Phelps Grove Park is another beloved historic Springfield park, showcasing a unique native Ozarks rock pavilion; Springfield Skate Park; and you'll spy a mural created in collaboration with Watershed Committee of the Ozarks.
HOW TO SUBMIT A TRAIL MAINTENANCE/SERVICE REQUEST: Please call the Park's Trail Managers at 417-864-1049 or the Citizen Resource Center at 417-864-1010. You may also submit an Online Service Request Form via the Citizen Resource Center. Please know the nearest mile marker/landmark and state the request (downed tree, etc.)
Parking & Trail Access
Parking is available at Fassnight Park at 1301 S. Campbell Avenue, and there's an on-road connection westbound Bennett Street to Phelps Grove Park at 950 E. Bennett Street.
