Fulbright Spring Greenway

TRAIL DESCRIPTION: This gorgeous trail begins at Ritter Springs Park and travels east underneath Highway 13 past David C. Murray Trailhead, Lost Hill Park, and ends at Truman Elementary School.  It is currently 6.98 miles long. There is a 1/4-mile of this trail at The Watershed Center at Valley Water Mill. We plan for these sections to eventually connect.

Lost Hill Park's historic white farmhouse, rock chicken barn, natural bridges and caves 
The Watershed Center at Valley Water Mill Park has a beautiful lake and nature trail 
Valley Water Mill Park's Equestrian Center 

ALERTS:  1.  The gravel road through the Sac River Landfill that was formerly used as a trail connector, connecting Sac River Mountain Bike Trail, Ritter Springs Park, and Fulbright Spring Greenway, is closed indefinitely.  2.  Low-water creek crossings may be slick.  Cross at your own risk.

Gravel and asphalt segments within Ritter Springs Park. The remiander is hard surface. Moderate to steep inclines that follow the natural terrain.

Greenway Etiquette

Bicyclists
  • Show courtesy, greenways are for all users.
  • Yield right-of-way to pedestrians.
  • Keep to the right (except to pass).
  • Always pass on the left and give ample room.
  • Before you pass a pedestrian or another bicyclist, slow down and either ring a bell or politely call out “passing on your left”.
  • Stay single file in congested conditions.
  • Ride at a safe speed and enjoy the view.
All Users
  • Share the greenway; be considerate of all users.
  • Stay right, pass on the left. Announce when passing. 
  • If you stop, step off the greenway.
  • Turn down volume on earphones so that you can hear other greenway users.
  • Keep dogs on a leash and clean up after your pet.
  • Report trail hazards in Greene County to Springfield-Greene County Parks at 864-1049.
  • Call 911 to report crime.
