Category Projects | Posted on June 7, 2021

Pardon Our Progress!

Our community's beloved Galloway Creek Greenway Trail & Area is about to receive some much needed repairs and improvements.  Many partners are working together on these projects, and we did not anticipate all of them starting this summer.  These projects are all experiencing changes in schedule due to weather and the supply chain. We realize that this is one of the trail's busiest seasons; however, here we are.  The improvements will be worth the temporary inconveniences.  We hope that you are excited that these improvements are getting started, or are about to get started.  Let's be kind and patient with one another during these planned improvements.

Lone Pine Bike Park Enhancement & Ecological Improvements:  staging will begin the week of June 7*

This project is identified in the Springfield-Greene County Parks Master Plan.  Project lead:  Ozark Greenways.  Funded via Ozark Greenways (private donor.)

Galloway Creek Greenway Trail Repairs: mobilizing June 7*

Springfield-Greene County Park's construction crew will start making concrete repairs to shorter segments of the Galloway Creek Greenway trail.  These repairs will be in 2-3 different spots between Pershing Trailhead and north of Sequiota Park.  They will use signs/barriers and allow folks to deter around the construction areas on the grass within the trail corridor. Project lead:  Springfield-Greene County Park Board.  Funded in partnership with Parks & Ozark Greenways (private donor.)

Galloway Creek Greenway Trail Reconstruction: June 14*

Brentwood Neighborhood Crosswalk & Trail Connector:  July 7*

This project is idenfitifed in the Springfield-Greene County Vision 2020 Comprehensive Plan. * All of these dates are subject to change as we navigate the weather and supply chain issues.
